Lord Mayor of City of London Discuss with CMA Officials Cooperation in Securities and Insurance Fields

HE Yahya Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority and Chairman of the Capital Market Authority received the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the accompanying  British business delegation on Sunday 13th January 2013 at  CMA in the  attendance of HE Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of CMA.

The delegation comprised  Mr. Ian Cranshaw, Acting Head of UK Trade & Investment in addition  to members of the British Business Delegation.

The meeting reviewed  the cooperation between the two countries and investment opportunities in the capital and insurance sectors as well as the developments in the financial services sector in the Sultanate such as the introduction of Islamic financial instruments and Takaful insurance. The delegation also discussed ways for boosting the mutual agreement between Muscat Securities Market and London Stock Exchange.

The visit will enhance the mutual cooperation between the two countries especially the economic and financial aspects and acquaint the business delegation with  investment opportunities  in the capital and insurance sectors and to benefit from the measures taken by CMA to ease and attract  investment.

The meeting was attended by HE the British Ambassador to Oman,  Ahmed Saleh Al Marhoon, Director General of Muscat Securities Market and a number of CMA officials.
