CMA Inks Letter of Understanding with SQU

 

Sultan Qaboos University (SQA) has signed a letter of understanding with the Capital Market Authority for exchange of experience in quality, academic accreditation and research in the College of Economics and political science.

 

HE Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al Salmi, Executive President signed for CMA and HE Dr. Ali Saud Al Bimani, President of SQU signed for the university.

 

The letter of understanding was signed to upgrade the level of  educational process to cope with the global developments and the parties’ desire to execute this vision for mutual exchange of experience in the fields of quality, academic accreditation and research.

 

The parties are attempting to create bilateral relations for academic and cultural exchange to proceed in exploring new knowledge, creative thinking, enhancing education and learning process, training, organization of conferences as well as enhancing the constructive  impact on the community.

 

 

HE Dr. Ali Al Bimani, President of SQU said the agreement aims to link SQU with the government and private institutions for exchange of expertise and for cementing the relations between the two entities.

 

He added such agreements  would help in field training of students in such institutions and the staff of the university can offer studies to the capital market which needs to encounter its challenges.

 

 

On the importance of the memorandum HE Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al Salmi said “ We are pleased to sign this letter of understanding with  SQU which aims to enhance the mutual cooperation  in research related to economic aspects especially related to  capital market and insurance sectors through exchange of expertise to bridge the gap between the work market and study fields as well as acquainting with the latest development  in these aspects.”

 

He added that cooperation aspectss with the university represented by the College of Economics and Political Studies will expand to cover the curriculum of insurance and capital markets for students and providing  training opportunities for students of the college to qualify them to get into the labour market through enhancing their knowledge and professional aspect relating to the work mechanism of capital market and insurance sectors for their significance to the national economy.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Khamis Hamed Al Yahyaei, Dean of the College of Economics and Political Science said “the agreement includes dispatching about 10 students of the college for summer training abroad in similar financial authorities to gain  international experience. The college will also offer a number of programmes in insurance and financial markets. He added that SQU will host experts in capital markets to give lecture to students as visiting guests as well as holding joint conferences stressing that CMA is strategic partner of the College of Economics and Political Science in particular and SQU in general.
