7 July 2026 — Muscat, Oman: The Financial Services Authority (FSA) welcomed students participating in the 5th Financial Explorer Programme, organised by the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), as part of the ongoing collaboration between the two sides. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote financial literacy among school students and strengthen their understanding of fundamental financial concepts, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
Held over two days, the visit featured two interactive workshops attended by 140 students. The first workshop was designed for students in Grades 7–9, while the second targeted students in Grades 10–12.
The workshops covered a range of key financial topics, including financial planning, the importance of saving, managing expenditure and ways to grow savings. Students were also introduced to sound financial practices that encourage the development of positive financial habits from an early age. The content was tailored to suit the age group and learning needs of each cohort.
The FSA adopted an interactive training approach combining practical activities, educational games and group discussions, enabling participants to apply financial concepts in an engaging and accessible manner. This approach enhanced student participation while reinforcing key learning outcomes through practical experience.
Hosting students from the Financial Explorer programme reflects the FSA’s continued commitment to promoting financial literacy across all segments of society and strengthening partnerships with educational institutions. These efforts support initiatives aimed at raising financial awareness among young people and equipping them with essential financial skills to manage their finances effectively while fostering a culture of saving and sound financial planning.
The Financial Explorer programme is one of the financial awareness initiatives organised by the CBFS for school students. It aims to introduce participants to key financial concepts through modern, interactive learning methods, helping to enhance their financial knowledge and better prepare them to navigate future financial challenges.
