The Financial Services Authority (FSA) took part in the 20th Annual Meeting of the Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), held on 22 April 2026 via video conference, led by the Tunisian Financial Market Authority (Conseil du Marché Financier or CMF), in the presence of leaders and representatives of regulatory authorities of Arab capital markets.
It reviewed multiple strategic topics, including the development of the Union’s Articles of Association and the strategic plan for the years 2026–2030, in addition to reviewing the annual report for 2025 in preparation for its final issuance.
It also addressed several matters related to the development of Arab capital markets, where guidelines on cross-border financial activities and capital flows were reviewed, alongside best practices for managing market risks, contributing to enhanced market stability amid rapid digital transformation. The meeting also witnessed the launch of the ‘Smart Investor Guide’, aimed at raising investment awareness and strengthening the protection of investors’ rights in financial markets.
In the area of cybersecurity, the meeting discussed the development of a guideline aimed at enhancing the readiness of regulatory authorities in addressing technological risks. It also reviewed several qualitative initiatives, most notably the ‘Self-Learning Initiative’, which aims to provide educational and training content for financial sector professionals and investors through digital platforms, thereby enhancing technical skills and bridging the knowledge gap in Arab markets.
On another note, the CMF approved the Union’s financial performance and adopted the training plan for 2026, which aims to strengthen the technical and regulatory capabilities of personnel in Arab securities authorities through specialised programmes aligned with international developments.
It is worth noting that the UASA was established in 2007 as a non-profit organisation with an independent legal personality, headquartered in the UAE. It aims to enhance the legislative and regulatory frameworks of Arab capital markets, improve their efficiency and transparency, unify regulatory efforts, and support a more attractive and secure investment environment in the region.
