The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has taken note of the discussions and enquiries raised on social media regarding the rights issue of Sohar International Bank SAOG and the bank’s failure to adhere to the timetable set out in the prospectus published on 5 July 2026, which resulted in the delay of listing the new shares beyond the scheduled date of 30 July 2026.
It emphasises that the prospectus constitutes the legal document under which the subscription is conducted, and both the issuer and the issue manager are required to comply with all the terms, obligations and provisions set out therein.
Accordingly, the FSA has directed the bank to issue a statement explaining the reasons for its failure to comply with the timetable specified in the prospectus, particularly the reasons for the delay in completing the procedures for listing the newly issued shares by the scheduled date without disclosing such delay.
This is without prejudice to any legal measures that the FSA may take.
