1. Regulating financial sectors and professions, such as capital markets, insurance, accounting, auditing, commodity and energy markets with their derivatives, and credit rating agencies, along with related entities, services and products; ensuring their soundness and mitigating potential risks to them or to the stability of the financial system.
2. Preparing draft laws, Royal Decrees, regulations and resolutions related to the FSA’s areas of competence.
3. Carrying out studies and proposing amendments to existing laws, and where necessary, allowing the temporary application of certain services, activities or licences pending the issuance of new legislation.
4. Conducting administrative investigations, including summoning and questioning individuals in violation of relevant laws and regulations, or responding to requests from foreign authorities in cases of cross-border violations, and acting appropriately against offenders.
