CMA Participates in the 40th Meeting of AMERC
CMA Inks Memorandum of Understanding with Moroccan Capital Market Authority
The Capital Market Authority participated in the 40th meeting of Africa Middle East Regional Committee (AMERC) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (ISCO) which was hosted by the Moroccan Capital Market Authority.
HE Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of CMA and Abdullah Al Rabeei, Director of Media and External Relations represented CMA in the meeting.
The meeting discussed a number of issues relating to stock markets and ways for upgrading them as well as issues of concern to the members of the AMERC including technological advances, roles of members and their impact on the markets of the region.
An accompanying meeting discusses issues such as the challenges and financing in the markets of Africa and the Middle East as well as the challenges of financing infrastructure projects and small and medium enterprises through the stock markets, the new opportunities to finance the green economy and regional integration mechanism of the financial markets in Africa and the Middle East.
CMA is a member of AMERC which comprises 23 members who meet twice annually to discuss the various topics and challenges in the region.
Based on the distinguished relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Morocco and to boost the mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of information and expertise exchange a memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the meeting between CMA and Moroccan Capital Market Authority based on common interests.
