An Introductory Overview on the Insurance Issues Seminar

The Insurance Issues Seminar will be organized for the second time to follow up the executive position of the recommendations of the first seminar that was held back in 2013.  The seminar aims at discussing many aspects including the challenges faced in the compensation process after traffic accidents, insurance issues, challenges related to claims and the roles played by each party to ensure everyone's rights and that procedures are simplified.

Through this seminar, the Capital Market Authority (CMA) aims to provide an opportunity for judges, legal advisors, medical committees and insurers to discuss the latest developments in the laws and regulations of the insurance sector; which is considered to be of a great importance economically and socially.  The discussion will also include the types of problems and challenges encountered by the participants of the insurance sector in the Sultanate of Oman to find the possible solutions to maintain the stability of the sector, promote fairness among the participants, unify forms and their working mechanism through utilizing the latest innovative tools.  Such tools limit discrepancies in the reports issued by various entities and develop medical reports issued by Emergency Room or any other departments of the hospital to be at a level that allows and simplifies the adjudication process by courthouses.  This is accomplished by finding a common language between the judicial and medical parties.
