GCC Securities regulators will continue the joint awareness campaign under the title “Protect Your Investments by knowing your Rights”. The campaign will commence in the beginning of February and will continue until end of March 2021 and aims to increase the level of awareness of investors in GCC member states on the basics of investment in stock markets and the methods of fraud, risks and how to adopt risk mitigating strategies in stock markets for increased efficiency and soundness.
The move comes as part of the investment awareness program “Mulim” (aware of) which a joint program of the GCC securities regulators commenced in November 2020 targeting the participants of the stock markets in the various sectors.
Under the program each GCC regulator sponsors specific period of the program through disseminating diversified awareness messages including press statements, awareness messages in radio, television and social media of participating entities as well as various media.
The campaigns started in November and December 2020 under the title “ Basics of Investment” then “Think before Investing” in January 2021.
GCC securities regulators attach great importance to awareness in stock markets to promote the levels of skills and knowledge of investors to protect them and take sound investment decision to encourage investment in safe and attractive market to support the growth and diversity of the national economy.
