CMA Offers Jobs and Introduces Enabling Plans in Insurance Sector
The Capital Market Authority has offered, during its participation in the job opportunities and training exhibition 2016 organized at Sultan Qaboos University during the period 7-9 March, eleven employment openings in accounting, management and marketing.
The exhibition was opened by HE Sheikh Abdullah Naser Al Harrasi, Executive President of the Public Authority for Radio and Television.
CMA participated in the event to acquaint the visitors with the roles and duties of the capital market and the insurance sector in the process of the national economy as vital element of the requirements of comprehensive development beside introducing the job opportunities provided by the sectors for the national cadres in the various disciplines such as management, accounting, finance and information technology.
Such meetings with students and potential graduates are an opportunity to portray the nature of the careers after graduation through working for insurance companies or the companies operating in securities through training to gain the skills and capabilities. CMA’s pavilion acquaints the vistors with the employment opportunities available in the insurance sector through directly working for the insurers or establishing small and medium businesses in insurance brokerage.
CMA encourages insurance companies to participate in such forums.
It is noteworthy that the insurance sector has recorded growth in Omanization in 2015 to 70%. CMA is keen to promote employment opportunities in the insurance sector in particular to upgrade the contribution of the sector in the GDP and to maximize the added economic value of the sector by Omanization which is based on enabling the national cadres in medium and senior management positions as the Omanization ratio in such levels is still low compared to the expatriates who dominate the sector. CMA is conducting training programmes for the employees of the insurance sector to qualify them to take greater roles in line with the wise Government’s plans with regard to Omanization and cooperation of the private sector to accommodate the national cadres in view of the tangible increase in employment opportunities in the insurance sector.
