Financial Explorer Program Concluded
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) celebrated the conclusion of the “Financial Explorer 3” summer program for school students, which was organized by the College of Banking and Financial Studies under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 as the FSA contributed to supporting the program during the period from June 30 to July 10, 2024 for students transferring to the seventh to twelfth grades in the presence of Ahmed Ali Al Maamari, Vice President of the FSA, Dean of the College, Dr. Zahran Salem Al-Salti, college employees and participating students and parents in addition to representatives of the institutions supporting the program such Bank Sohar International and Khaznah project of the Ministry of Education.
FSA’s initiative to support this program comes with the aim of enhancing financial culture among school students as the FSA contributed to the Financial Explorer Program by supporting 40 of the seats offered in the college, which were announced and offered the opportunity to register and compete for them. The program continued for two weeks with the participation of more than hundred students from all Wilayats of the Sultanate of Oman to build up a financially aware generation that has the ability to manage funds and savings and have buying, selling and consumption skills. The program included a set of lectures in a number of fields, including budget planning, financial investment tools, digital banking services, virtual currencies, artificial intelligence, programming, and entrepreneurship.
FSA supported the initiative with the aim of supporting the ambition of the College of Banking and Financial Studies in building a conscious and innovative generation that analyses, thinks, creates and plans because it believes that education is an engine that moves society towards horizons of progress. This version was a continuation of the previous versions of the Financial Explorer program for school students as this year’s program came with broader aspirations and horizons that serve students and develop their skills in financial culture from savings to entrepreneurship, data science, fintech etc.
