About the Workshop:

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the importance of the hidden defects document in the real estate and construction sector. The details of the document, its objectives, and its implementation mechanisms will be highlighted, in addition to discussing its role in improving the quality of construction and protecting the rights of owners and investors.

Definition of the Hidden Defects Document:

The Hidden Defects Document for buildings covers any material defect in the construction works or their protective elements that weaken the strength, stability or stability of the building or is due to a defect in the design, materials, location or construction that is discovered in buildings and structures after their use and was not discovered on the date of issuance of the insurance policy. The insurance period is up to 10 years.

The importance of the hidden defects document:

Providing security for contractors and building owners, which will encourage them to increase their business, and will also ensure the improvement of the type of buildings through the availability of Omani construction conditions in new buildings to follow up on insurance companies at all stages of construction through specialized technical inspection companies to ensure that each stage has been implemented according to the rules and according to the Omani construction law. This will be reflected in maintaining the safety of buildings for long-term periods and not wasting them.

1- Introducing participants to the hidden defects document and its importance in ensuring the quality of construction projects.

2- Explaining the regulatory rules and implementation mechanisms approved by the competent authorities (Ministry of Interior, Muscat Municipality, and Financial Services Authority).
