CMA Discuss Challenges in Insurance Issues
The Capital Market Authority will organize next week the Second Seminar on Insurance Issues to address tricky insurance issues and attaining logical solutions for them with the participation of representatives of Royal Oman Police, the Supreme Judicial Council, Ministry of Health and the companies operating in the fields related to the topics of the Seminar.
The one-day seminar which is scheduled on January 31 at the Intercity Hotel, Muscat, aims to discusses insurance issues and challenges encountering the parties of the insurance relationship and the methods of dispute resolution and the solutions that help the judiciary in making rulings based on clear facts and unified standards. The Seminar will focus on setting guidance evidence for evaluation and estimation of percentages of medical disability using up-to-date scientific means.
CMA would endeavor, through the seminar, to limit the discrepancies in the reports of medical committees and judgements to reduce the pressure on the judiciary by resorting to reconciliations and flexible dealing with insurance issues in addition to creating feasible solutions to ensure the stability of the insurance market and maintain its balance to achieve justice among the participants.
The seminar will discuss a number of themes such as the challenges of the Omani judiciary in dispute resolution related to insurance accidents and the basis and standards for calculation of the percentage of medical disability in view of the experiences and lessons of insurance in the public courts and special courts beside discussing the impact and challenges of judicial rulings related to insurance.
