Reinforcing financial and investment awareness among Omani youth and developing their skills in investment, financial planning and decision-making, capital market firms in the Sultanate of Oman have announced the launch of the ‘Financial Awareness Camp’, which will be held from 8 to 10 October in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, in line with World Investor Week.
The camp is co-organised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) and Muscat Clearing and Depository (MCD), with Ubhar Capital participating as the educational partner. The initiative reflects the integrated efforts of capital market firms and the private sector to support initiatives aimed at promoting financial and investment awareness and equipping young people with the knowledge and skills required to engage with financial markets responsibly.
It targets Omani youth from across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman who are interested in financial markets and investment. It offers a three-day interactive learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application in an educational environment that differs from traditional training methods.
The programme includes a range of discussion and interactive sessions, specialised workshops, brainstorming sessions, practical activities and real-life simulations, in addition to activities aimed at strengthening communication, teamwork, strategic thinking and personal leadership skills.
The camp also provides participants with the opportunity to engage directly with financial market experts and specialists and apply investment concepts to practical cases, helping to advance their analytical thinking, financial planning and knowledge-based investment decision-making skills
