The Sultanate of Oman represented by the Capital Market Authority participated in the 43rd meeting of the International Organization of the Securities Commissions (IOSCO) which is hosted by the Central Bank of Hungary in Budapest during the period 7-11 May 2018. The delegation is chaired by HE Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of the Capital Market Authority and membership of Mohammed Said Al Abri, Vice President, Capital Market Sector, Ahmed Ali Al Makhaini, Economic Expert at the Office of the Executive President and Abdullah Salim Al Rabeei, Director of Media and External Relations.
CMA takes part in the meeting to acquaint with the latest developments in the legislative and technical fields in respect of the regulation of capital markets in view of the rapid developments in the global markets and the requirements of the present phase. A memorandum of understanding will be inked on sidelines of the meeting between CMA and the Securities and Stock Exchanges of the Kingdom of Thailand for exchange of information and mutual cooperation.
IOSCO is an international organization comprising securities commission from all over the world with the objective of protecting investor and ensuring markets are fair, efficient and transparent and to reduce systemic risks further to exchange of information and expertise and for unified efforts for regulation of securities transactions, technical assistance and soundness of markets through robust regulations.
