The Capital Market Authority participated in the awareness seminar “Road Safety is our Goal” organized by the Traffic Safety Committee of the Wilayat of Sohar at the conference room of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Wilayat within the traffic safety programme under the theme “Sohar without Accidents”.

CMA’s participation aimed to explain the legislations regulating the insurance sector including insurance policies which would enhance the awareness and importance of complying with safety rules while using the vehicle and to cultivate the concepts of traffic.

The seminar included 4 working papers. The first paper was presented by Royal Oman Police titled “Your Safety is our Concern”  presented by civilian officer Said Ali Al Amri. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry presented a paper titled “Safe Tyres” presented by Engineer Khalid Hamoud Al Hanaie, Head of Calibration, Directorate General of Specifications and Measures. CMA presented a paper on the “Insurance Damage of Traffic Accidents” presented by Nasr Ahmed Al Salhi, Director of the Department of Policyholders. The fourth paper was presented by the Ministry of Health “ Disabilities Resulting from Traffic Accidents in the Governorate of North Batinah” presented by Dr. Khalid Mohammed, Senior Consultant, Emergency Medicine, Sohar Hospital. All the audience confirmed the importance of disseminating traffic rules compliance culture  for the safety of the public.
